Walk for Wag 2019

Walk for Wag takes place at Landal Kielder Waterside for the fourth time this September!

Have a fun day out with spectacular scenery while at the same time, raising money to enable more and more Visiting Wag Teams to visit the elderly across the North East of England.

Walk for Wag was founded by local business people and is supported by some key businesses in the North East. “Having visited the elderly with dogs in nursing homes as part of corporate volunteering programmes, we have seen first-hand the positive benefits of new friends and the special bond between dogs and people”.

Indisputably one of the most beautiful walks in the UK, the Kielder Dog Walk is a 10 kilometre sponsored walk (6.2 miles) starting here at Landal Kielder Waterside along the Lakeside Way. There is also a 3 kilometre (1.86 miles) walk where a shorter distance would be more appropriate for you and your children or your dogs. The 10 km walk takes just about 2 hours at a moderate pace and the 3 km about half an hour. Both walks are on generally good terrain although it can be uneven in parts. The 3km walk is wheelchair accessible with support.
